Day 1 Meditation

Apply the first "E" of meditation to instantly change your practice.

All you want to do today is give yourself permission to thoroughly enjoy something for 5-10 minutes. By practicing enjoyment, you begin to immeditately shift your experience of meditation.

Directions:

Sit down somewhere comfortable with a cup of coffee or tea. Close your eyes and feel gratitude for your drink. Gratitude opens the door to enjoyment. Move from gratitude into a state of savoring and enjoying as you slowly sip your drink. Allow yourself to experience extreme enjoyment of everything inside you and all around you for the next 5-10 minutes.

Points to ponder:

Identify three things you regularly do that don't bring you joy that you choose over meditation or other spiritual practices that are designed to bring you joy. Why do we sometimes choose things that don't bring us joy over things that do?
